ITINERARY

Welcome to the Himalaya Country of Nepal, after passing through immigration, you will continue walk downstairs to collect your baggage and you will go through custom inspection. After doing all the formalities, you will proceed to exit point where our representative will be waiting for you to greet you with a traditional offering of a Khada [ceremonial scarf used in Tibet and Mongolia, symbolizing purity, goodwill, auspiciousness and compassion].

You are transferred to your booked hotel and your representative will help you to check in to your hotel. Rest of the day will be at leisure.

Evening, our Guide/Trek leader will meet you at your hotel and then be given a briefing on all relevant aspects of your holiday. This includes all “Do’s and Don’ts” while in Kathmandu and on the trek.

After a sumptuous breakfast, we will take you on a guided day trip to some of the more spectacular sights in Kathmandu for half day tour. Afternoon is free for trek pack, purchase last minute items for your trek or simply relax.

From Pokhara we take on an hour’s pleasant drive through mountain highway to Nayapool. Then we walk about 20 minutes on a level trail to Birethanti on the bank of Modi river where is an Annapurna Conservation area check post.

From Birathanti the trail follows Bhurungdi River up to Tirkhedhunga. The trail is level and passes through several small villages on the way. Then the trail climbs through stone steps for about 1 ½ hrs to Ulleri – a large Magar village. There are several lodges.

From Ulleri the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. The fields soon give way to deep forests as the trail climbs to Banthanti. Beyond Banthanti, there are magnificent oak and rhododendron forests. Then we climb through forests all the way to Ghorepani – a pleasant village on ridge top with excellent views of several peaks such as Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Machhapuchre Hiunchuli, Tukche etc. Ghorepani means ‘horse water’ in Nepali.

We make an early morning excursion to Poon Hill, about an hour’s climbs, provides a breathtaking view of the high Himalayas. From Ghorepani, the trail climbs through ridge with excellent Mountain View for about 1 ½ hrs. Then we will move forward to Ghandruk for overnight stay.

From Ghandruk we make a long descend on stone staircase to Shauli Bazaar alongside the Modi river. Then there is level walk through fields to Naya Pool where we meet highway. It is about 1 ½ hour drive through mountain highway to Pokhara.

 

Davis Fall: It is the most famous water fall in Pokhara, which comes to its gushing best just before disappearing underground. The water flowing in this fall comes from Fewa lake and the fall is worth visiting during the rainy seasons as it possesses its maximum velocity.

 

Phewa Lake: Sightseeing of Phewa Lake (one hour boat ride). The lake in the immediate vicinity of the city is Phewa Lake with an island temple dedicated to Goddess Barahi in the middle with its serene water reflecting the Annapurna range and a nicely preserved forest on the adjoining southern slope, this legendary second largest lake of Nepal remains a major source of attraction for the visiting tourists.

 

Bindebashini Temple: This is one of the oldest temples in Pokhara. Legend says that when Pokhara was a part of Kaski Kingdom, the main deity of the temple, Goddess Durga, was brought from India. Apart from the peace and tranquility that can be felt in this region, the premises of the temple offers a good view of the Himalaya on a clear day. The temple is in the area of the Bazaar; hence, a journey of the old bazaar can be combined with a visit to the temple.

 

Gupteswor Mahadev Cave: Gupteshwor Mahadev cave is one of the longest caves in Nepal. On the way to cave, there are shining stones seen everywhere and in the temple is big stone that looks like snake's head and tortoise which is consider as the image of the lord Shiva. Second part is very beautiful and you see shining stones and different types of rocks like bee hives.

 AM: Sarangkot visit and later breakfast at the hotel and drive to airport, check-in at Pokhara airport and fly back to Kathmandu. PM: Sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur city.

Sarangkot is 9 kms to the north west of Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. Conveniently perched high on the top of a ridge at 1,592m., the serene hill resort offers the spectacular panorama of the entire Annapurna range stretching from east to west and the un-spoilt rural settlements just below those towering peaks. Viewing 700m down from the top of Sarangkot you can have awesome sights of the stretching Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake and many more.

 

Bhaktapur: Bhaktapur or the city of devotees is situated at an altitude of 1,401m; Bhaktapur covers an area of 4 square miles and is shaped like a conch shell. Pottery and weaving are the traditional industries. The major sightseeing places in Bhaktapur are Durbar Square, The National Art Gallery, The Golden Gate, The Palace with 55 Windows and Nyatapola Temple.

 

After breakfast, transfer to airport for your onward flight back home.
